An Epic Game of Catch-Up

Hi. I'm still alive.

There's been a whole list of things that have prevented me from posting.

1. After I put the video up last post my blog somehow became listed as a spam blog and I couldn't really get to it. There was a repeated series of e-mails from Google and to Google. That was fun. It took some time to get the blog back up.

2. Life. You know how that goes.

Boston in the Rain

I have that job interview tomorrow and it's in a place that I have never checked out.

Even though it was raining I took a borrowed umbrella, the bus and the train and went off that way. I had a couple of applications to drop off as well.

That area is absolutely beautiful. Since it was raining there weren't as many people and everything around looked so lush and green.

A Significantly Less Than Epic Day

I hate public transit.

I hate college move-in weeks.

I hate labor day.

On a typical day it takes about 15, maybe 20 minutes of waiting before the bus gets to our stop. Then it's another 20 or so minutes to Kenmore station, where I work.

But this past weekend was move in at Boston University. I work at the Boston University bookstore. So, basically, this past weekend was Hell in a box. A big, coffee drenched, mocha syrup sticky, iced tea stained box.

Oh, yes, I also hate frappuccinos.

A Rough Patch

So, it's been a few days and things have happened. Lots of things.

First, the whole job debacle. There was an e-mail that I missed...of course. It would be far too convenient and easy if things had just worked out. I mean, we were e-mailing back and forth the whole time with no problems. Until this e-mail. The important e-mail. This e-mail told me what time I was supposed to be there and my schedule for the week. Pretty much every thing that I needed to know.

Just a Few Things

1. I hate flies. I don't know how this giant one found it's way into my room with a closed door (perhaps the broken window?) but it needs to be defeated. It's already been hit by the ceiling fan but lo and behold, it's still not dead.

2. I need tall people in my life. I've grown spoiled at home with tall people. With tall people I might not have had to climb onto an unstable rolling chair to change the lightbulbs in the kitchen. Two out of three of them were out.

In Which Amy gets Offered a Job...or two

So, this was supposed to be a post about my adventures with public transit. Then it was going to be about laundry. But I decided that those can wait because yesterday was Job Interview Day.

Before all of this I'm-going-to-move-to-Boston/Brighton-because-why-the-hell-not hooplah one of my jobs was at Barnes and Noble. I loved it there. Adored it even. It was awesome. Then the Boston thing came up. So, here I am. Well, there was word of a transfer to a different Barnes and Noble. It was a whole different mess of faxes and phone calls.

Amy is Not-So-Epic

Let's get the basics out of the way first, shall we?

I'm Amy. I'm 24. I have four sisters. I hate commas. That's the not-so epic. Oh, and I have just moved from the Cleveland area to the Boston area. Which would be the sort-of epic adventure part.

This might not sound like all that big of a deal. I mean, I went off to college by myself, in the middle of a corn field.  But this is a little bit different or, at least, I think so. I'm going from having my own car to public transportation. Two jobs to no job (yet). Nine bookshelves to three. It's a bit of an adjustment so far.
